motoGP

This past weekend the MotoGP race came to Austin at the Circuit of the Americas. It was our first time to the track which is supposed to be one of the nicest in the country. On Friday we walked around and checked out the property while the guys were practicing. Saturday was qualifications and Sunday were the 3 official races: Moto2, Moto3 and MotoGP. The Moto3 guys were pretty amazing - a 17 year old won the whole race!

Our seats were at Turn 1 - here's our view:

It was a pretty good spot because we could see the starting line/finish line and the hardest turn on the track. Supposedly, the incline from the starting line to the top of the hill is equivalent to a 3 story building and it's a hairpin turn at the top.

Saturday night we went out to dinner and Justin surprised me with a (second) bday dinner with friends!
The pictures didn't come out so great but it's the memories that count!

And the next day was Dana's bday so we celebrated together with a dessert!

On race day we were pulling for Valentino Rossi, from Italy.

Who, in the end, only played 6th due to braking issues he was having.

Justin captured a great video of the riders on lap 2:
